Weider Pro 5500 Multi Gym Review

The Weider Pro 5500 was made to last and to be used by a variety of users and workouts. The 85 kilogram weight stack is made of vinyl weights that have been designed around the idea of a long standing weight set that will last longer than expected. The weights are protected by a safety shield and what is even better is that you are protected too. Adjusting the seat and the bars on the machine was made to be quick and simple with very little frustration. The multiple grip lateral bar accounts for the gym and its ability to accommodate many hand positions and exercises. Using any other machine to get a workout would be a waste of time and money. This multi use gym also offers an arm press and leg press. The arm press allows for targeted use within the arm, shoulder and chest area while the leg press allows for building muscle or slimming down the calves, thighs and hips at the same time. The Weider Pro 5500 is great when you want to work on your legs and arms as well as anything else. Th...

Hen Night Ideas Getaways

Most people say that a wedding is all about love and making the right step in a couple that is forming a family… nothing can be less true. Of course, the marriage in itself is or should be the celebration of love and a sort of promise that you will always be together “in joy and in sorrow”, yet the wedding is not the direct effect of love and, neither a family’s foundation, except formally speaking. When you love someone you stick around him, take care of him, confide in him, share everything together and support each other – that is all about love and being a family. Therefore, I believe that the wedding is only the traditional way to celebrate your happiness together with your family and dear ones. In this context, the hen night is the unconventional way to share your joy with your friends, a sort of means to tell yourself and them that “this is the farthest we can go! It can’t get any better!” So, together with the wedding ceremony, (an...

Stylish Venetian Blinds

Most of us are familiar with Venetian blinds, those difficult to clean, laterally slatted strips of plastic with their annoying dangling cords that constantly seem to be caught up in a tangle. There is nothing that makes a room look messier than venetian blinds that are hanging in a crooked or haphazard manner. Thankfully, venetian blind manufacturers are making this type of window shade more functional, more attractive and easier to clean. The key to using Venetian blinds successfully as a window covering is to make sure they are hung properly. If they are crooked then the strings will not act as properly as pulleys and create an askew effect. No matter how stylish your venetian blinds are they are not beautiful if they don’t work. In interior design, the old-fashioned plastic slatted Venetian blinds are out of style unless you are going for a decidedly retro look. However even if you are going for a retro look then you are much better off to choose Venetian blinds that are made...

Shwedagon Pagoda, The Golden Wonder Part 5

We go around the Bo Bo Aung Shrine and at the back of it we stay in front of the Temple of Dhammazedi and Dhammapala built by the Mon king Dhammazedi. Usually, temples, pagodas, shrines, etc. are guarded by a pair of chinthes, devas, nagas, ogres, and so on but this is different at this temple in so far as it is guarded by one chinthe (left) and one tiger (right). The temple houses two Buddha statues and people say that the temple is placed where the beam of light concentrated by the diamond orb (sein bu) of the Shwedagon Pagoda hits the terrace. This may be true but neither have I ever seen the ray myself nor have I ever met anyone in person who did. Some sources say that the Temple of Dhammazedi and Dhammapala is one of the nine Shwedagon Pagoda wonders and that the Sandawdwin Pagoda is not one of them; others say vice versa. We continue southwards and have now reached the Eastern Stairway. Here at the top of the stairway king Dhammazedi placed in 1485 the Dhammazedi stones we have s...

Exploring The Mysteries Of The Cosmos With Spacetime Ripples

Gravitational waves are ripples in the fabric of Spacetime, and these ripples travel through the Universe at the speed of light, taking with them secrets that have long been hidden from those who are trying to solve its myriad mysteries. These propagating ripples, that have frequently been compared to the ripples in a pond, were first predicted by Albert Einstein in his General Theory of Relativity (1915), when his mathematics demonstrated that massive accelerating objects–such as neutron stars and black holes– in orbit around each other, would stir up Spacetime so furiously that “waves” of distorted Space would zoom screaming away from the source. In October 2017, scientists announced that they have made the historic detection of gravitational waves, in addition to the light being emitted, originating from the dramatic and spectacular collision of two neutron stars. This marks the first time that such a cosmic event has been observed in both gravitational wa...

NBC's Deal or No Deal - Whatever the Answer, This Show Is Great Television

Once a week the nation’s loyal TV viewers tune in to their local NBC affiliate for an hour of sheer entertainment, watching anxiously to see if another average citizen can strike it rich. In an era of reality TV and crime show dramas, the TV game show genre is apparently still alive and kicking. Perhaps the best this segment of the television industry has to offer is the extremely popular hour long game show Deal or No Deal. Hosted by long time stand up comedian/actor Howie Mandel, flanked by a bevy of beautiful models, Deal or No Deal offers something for everyone. From the moment the show opens, the audience is drawn in by Mandel’s easy style and humorous banter. Unlike so many of the other game show hosts, Mandel is a likeable every day guy sans the slick hair piece and the robotic smile sported by many of the hosts we tend to see. Mandel’s likeability quotient is soon matched by a contestant whose wild enthusiasm and often colorful personality is an equally i...

Epilogue For Nepal

After a month of travels in an exotic mystical land, what did I bring back from my journey? Was it a neon-colored T-shirt emblazoned with the word ENLIGHTENMENT, or, perhaps, an unfriendly microorganism? Or, like Bill Murray’s character in the movie Caddyshack, did I befriend a holy man and receive in gratitude the gift of total consciousness. As Carl, Bill’s character, would say, “So, I got that going for me…” Nepal is the poorest and most exotic country I have ever visited. The ancient blends with the modern here as easily and awkwardly as does abject poverty with the sublime. The streets of Kathmandu present the stage and testing ground for what I’ve dubbed the Zen Buddhist Chaos Theory and its unlikely natural flow. The movement of humanity through the narrow dusty city streets of Kathmandu exudes a pattern of beautiful chaos. Every inch of precious space on the main thoroughfares through town is coveted by one form or another of colorful man, wom...

Woad - The Mysterious Blue Plant Dye

Woad is famous as the source of the blue dye that has been used to dye wool and other fibres for several thousand years in Europe and the Middle East. The pigment is extracted from the dark blue-green, spinach-like woad leaves. The Woad Plant Woad (Isatis tinctoria) is a native of the Mediterranean and belongs to the family Cruciferae, more commonly known as the brassicas, and is closely related to broccoli, cabbage and rape seed. Woad grows readily and is considered a noxious weed in some states of the USA. Woad is a biennial plant and grows for two years before dying down. In the first year, it forms a low-growing cluster of leaves like spinach. The leaves are harvested for dye production in the first year only, because they have little or no colour when they reach the second year.  In the second year, the leaves become longer and thinner and the woad plant looks quite different. It produces tall stems up to five or six feet in height with sprays of small, neon yellow flowers. Th...

Headless Buddhas and White Power - A Lesson in Travel Writing

At a loss to write a unique travel piece on a destination that’s been visited by countless masses for decades? Don’t be. Focus on your own non-unique experiences while there. I had the privilege of spending a week in Niagara Falls in September of 2009. Nature’s majesty and power were on full display in the thundering waters surrounded by peaceful Fall foliage and colorful, pristine gardens. Evening fell and I walked the misty periphery of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls alongside an assortment of international visitors and tourists. I turned, walking uphill for about a quarter mile, away from the falls and towards the hotels and casinos. I curved right at Fallsview Blvd. The street grew quieter, bustle slowly left the air. A patch of copper colored streetlight fell across the neon glow of a closed tattoo parlor. The road ended and a new one, perpendicular to the first, began. A young man was cattycorner from me across the intersection. He was wiry with a wispy beard, in h...

Consumer Fireworks Reviews - The Good, Bad and Ugly

Fireworks for Sale, we’ve all seen the signs. Blaring out saying come on in, we have just what you’re looking for. As we drive around and it gets to be summertime or close to the holiday’s like July 4th, fireworks tents start popping up everywhere. The signage along the roadway says Black Cat Fireworks Sold Here, you cannot miss that one. Black Cat is a known brand that has been around for years. Another sign comes to mind “Excalibur” with a picture of the sword which is hard to miss. Now that is a good one to expound on. An individual that does not know what “Excalibur” really is, would probably not put the two together. “World’s Number One Selling Artillery Shells”, it’s an aerial canister shell that is loaded one at a time in what is known as a shoot tube. One of the biggest Eye catchers out there today is the, “Buy One, Get One Free” signs. Is it really a buy one, get one free program? Or did they double t...

What You Need to Know About Gouldian Finches

Also known as the Rainbow Finch or Painted Finch due to its many colors and patterns, the Gouldian Finch isn’t a very social creature… at least not to human beings. They are very social to their fellow finches and live more favorably in pairs or groups of pairs than singly. Gouldian finches do not like to be held or touched unlike other types of finches. If you are looking for a bird that you would like to pet or carry, this bird isn’t for you. They however sing very beautifully, the males in particular. Their chirping voice is one of the most beautiful among the finches. These types of finches do not adapt well to environmental changes; for example, when you transfer them from a new place or change them from one cage to another. Stress lowers their resistance to disease and in turn may kill them. Although originally coming from a tropical climate, it can with the proper knowledge, adapt to cold weather providing they are protected from the cold outside. Unlike any oth...

The Male Version of the Pink Hard Hats

The only difference of the pink hard hats is the color and other than that, nothing much. They are known to give you the same amount of protection that you need as well as the same suspension is provided. There is not only one hard hat that is made for this purpose, as a matter of fact, there is something like a dozen pink hard hats on the market at the moment. There is a fashion statement that goes, pink is the new black, this applies to the construction industry as well, the pink is so soft and also real cute. These hard hats are not at all pricey and you are able to get them over the internet, this is something that everyone will be wanting once the trend kicks in. The first hat that was made, was made in a pastel pink, it was one that had a short peak and the suspension was adjustable to provide easy comfort. There is also as chin strap and you would have place for you pencil as well as a light. This was the first hard hat that was made for the construction industry in this color. ...

Garden of the Sleeping Giant - Nadi Fiji

A couple of years ago I took a bus tour around Nadi and one of the places we visited was the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. This garden displays Fiji’s largest orchid collection; unfortunately we had less than 30 minutes which wasn’t enough time to soak up the unique atmosphere of this beautiful location so I vowed to visit this lovely garden in Fiji again… Second Visit to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant Recently we stayed at Nadi a few kilometers down the road from the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, what’s special about this accommodation is the view. The first time I stayed here, I arrived on a hot, humid and dark night. Tired and a bit over it all after a busy day I went straight to bed wishing I was back home. First light reveals paradise in Fiji Opening the curtains and balcony window to get some fresh morning air, I was astounded by what I saw. I felt like I was in Jurassic Park and any moment a T Rex would emerge from the tree line. The Nausori Highlands we...

Importance of Time and Clocks

The clock is one of the most important devices of all civilization. It is simply a gadget that we use to tell the exact time of day. Its name was borrowed from a Greek term that meant the ringing of a bell. Now since clocks would make some sort of sound after every hour, it was dubbed with this name. We are living in a civilized time that has put such a heavy importance on time. Everything is dependent on it. That is how important therefore that the clock is. Due to this importance there are clocks all around us. In a developed area you cannot walk for five minutes before you see a clock somewhere. The clocks we have in our society today all have a common ancestor. Their common ancestor is the sun dial. It would cast the sun’s shadow around its fixed centre to show us the time. The sun dial had a huge disadvantage that today’s clocks do not have. It only worked during the day. The water clock came soon after the sun dial. As a matter of fact it is not known exactly when both...
